A Season of Storytelling and Self-Discovery

The past few months have been incredibly wholesome and creatively fulfilling. I’ve had the joy of starring in my first theatre production and creating artwork that celebrates culture, identity, and the beauty within struggle. Also being featured in a photography exhibition by the talented Myah Asha Jeffers. A moment that reminded me how art connects us in a powerful and personal way.
Things kicked off with my acting role in "Sonder(s)" at the Roundhouse, in collaboration with Daniel Kaluuya’s Centre 59. Embodying such a layered and intense character was both challenging and deeply rewarding. The rehearsal process pushed me beyond my limits mentally, emotionally and physically but I found so much joy within the challenge.
Working alongside brilliant creatives like Evelyn Duah, Louie Keen, and a whole host of passionate creatives behind the scenes was an honour. Their talent and commitment shaped the production into something truly special.
Before our opening night performance, Daniel shared a line with us that really stuck:
“You’re only the right person for the role after the job is done.”- Daniel Kaluuya
This was an important reminder that the journey and the process of making new discoveries is just as or even more important than the outcome. This honestly gave me a deep sense of reassurance. It’s about discovery, growth, and staying present in the process in anything you do.
Also a big shout out to the rest of the cast, I loved acting alongside you all!
Add “Model” to my resume, lool! Huge love to Myah Asha Jeffers, a brilliant London-based visual artist, photographer whose work beautifully focuses on capturing and documenting the nuances of daily life within diasporic communities.
I had the honour of being featured in one of her pieces as part of her recent exhibition, “Acts of Communion,” at the Roundhouse. The exhibition was a powerful celebration of diasporic communities and connections. Soft, Strong, and deeply rooted in community. To see myself reflected in that space was something special, and I’m truly grateful to have been a part of it.
This is a testament that stepping into the unknown, learning to trust the process, staying open to making new discoveries and honouring every part of the journey, even the moments that stretch and challenge me. Whether through acting, visual art, or simply showing up as I am. I’m finding new ways to tell stories that feel true and authentic.
“Enjoy the process of becoming…” - Louie Keen
